Warandha / Varandha Ghat is a mountain passage in the Sahyadri range which connects
Pune region and the Konkan region. Located on the crest of the Sahyadris, the entire stretch is full of natural beauty, green
valleys and waterfalls.
Sandeep proposed that we visit his ancestral village in Konkan.. As usual i was more than willing. We left the office in the afternoon and headed straight to Satara highway. Our Partner in drive was Sandeep's Fiat Punto.. We took a left turn to Bhor town, and from there we headed to Varandha Ghat.. As we we continued our drive on the narrow roads, the weather was becoming more pleasant and heavely. This lovely view of a river taking a serpentine turn caught my attention, so we stopped for a while to capture the picture.
We returned home next day from the Konkan. Sunset through the car mirror was indicating that we were about to leave behind the majestic mountains, deep valleys, waterfall and the wonderful scenic beauty that the Sahydaris is blessed upon.
