Adjacent ot the Jagadishwar temple is the most revered place, the samadhi of Shivaji Maharaj. The samadhi is well maintained. Adjacent to samadhi is a statue of Shivaji Maharaj's loyal dog Waghya. Isnt it touching that this pet is still so loyal to his King that even after so many years he is besides his master.

 We started our trek  from "Chit Darwaja" or also called as "Jit Darwaja", The trek includes steep climb of approx 1450 steps.

Route Details:

Option 1- Pune - Chandani Chowk - Tamhini Ghat -  Mangaon - Mahad - Raigad.....

Option 2 - Pune - Bhor - Warandha Ghat - Mahad - Raigad...

( Both Warandha and Tamhini Ghats are not safe to travel with Family at night.) Distance ( One way) approx 150 km from Pune..
