TULAPUR - Remembering The Great Maratha, Sambhaji Maharaj

Tulapur is famous for its Lord Shiva temple. Vadhu and Tulapur are two places next to each other. Temple is also known as Sangameshwar.

Tulapur is located approx 50 kms from Pune, on the way to Alandi. Tulapur is a place of historical importance as Shambhaji Maharaj the son of Shivaji Maharaj was arrested by Aurengzeb in Sangameshwar temple. Sambhaji was killed in Tulapur and his Samadhi is in Vadhu which is very near from Tulapur.

Places to note : Idol of Sambhaji Maharaj, Sangameshwar Temple, meeting point of rivers Bhima, Bhama, Indrayani on banks of which this place is located.
