Me and my friend Andrew Samuel decided to go for a trip to Mayureshwar, since we had never been there before we decided to explore the place. We met at 6.30 am at Hadapsar and started towards Pune - Solapur Highway in my car.
On the way we took a small pit stop at roadside 'Kanchan Dhaba' for breakfast. After The Hot Misal Pav and refreshing tea served in mud cup, we headed on the highway to place called Chauffula..
Road from Hadapsar to Chaufulle is a four lane highway.. Once in a Chouffula we took a right turn on a fly over to take Chauffula - Supe - Morgan Road.. Once in Supe look out for entrance to the sanctuary on the left hand side..
As we entered the sanctuary we met some very friendly local villagers who gave us hints on whereabouts of the chinkaras and also the spots where would get some good pics.. Before entering the sanctuary please make a entry in the forest office at the entrance gate.. The entry charges are Rs. 30/- per person and Rs. 50/- per camera..
We met very friendly and entusiastic forest Guards , who showed us the way to go inside the sanctuary and also told us likely places where we would find the Indian Gazalles... They were very co-opertive and seemed very proud of the place that they were guarding.
There are machans at various locations in the sanctuary, it is recommended that one should carry good binorculars and telephoto lens if you are interested in photography...
Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is reserved forest land for Indian Gazalles around 70 kms from Pune. The sanctuary is located at place called Supe on Chaufula - Supe - Morgaon road.
We called it a day at the sanctuary in the evening and returned back to Pune via Supe - Morgaon - Saswad Road.
